A Kat can Drive
September 7, 2010I dont know how to drive. This really sucks. Last night, i wanted to eat a burger but my brother wont drive me to the nearest joint. I had to pretend that a cheese sandwich had two juicy burger patties slathered with ketchup and mayo with all the fixins. UGH! Ive had driving lessons with 2 of my friends but im the only one who still CANT and WONT drive for two reasons.
Reason number one: Trauma. One time, my father asked me to park our Honda Civic in the garage. I was doing a pretty good job until i forgot which pedal was the break. Oooppps. The car stopped as it bumped against our wall. LOL My brother told me “Dili na siya bump car!” (That’s not a bump car!) I know it was just a minor incident but it scared the sh*t out of me!
Reason number two: I dont have my OWN car! My family owns 2 cars. One Honda bump car and the other is a classic Royal Blue Volkswagen beetle which my older brother owns. The Honda is still in great shape but the beetle is in pieces. Literally. My brother is really into cars. In fact, he repainted the whole car and did the interiors all by himself. But one fateful day, he saw a number of scratch or scuff marks on the side of the beetle and he decided to take it apart and repaint the ENTIRE car. Talk about impulsive. Until this very day, it has yet to be of service. One part is in the garage while the rest is rotting near our garden. I wanted to take it down at this Los Angeles auto repair shop. I bet they could resurrect the rotting car!
Anyway, lately i have been really wanting to “relearn” how to drive. I think people who drive their own car have the luxury to go to a drive-thru in the middle of the night in their pajamas. LOL
But my father said Id have to be able to actually know the parts of the car before he would allow me to take that Honda for another bumpy ride.
No problem. I just googled head gasket and voila! Instant auto education. With pictures too! LOL
