Caught up on the web
February 25, 2009How often do you spend or waste your time on the Internet? Chix told me he could surf the net the whole day. Me? I would say that I probably spend maybe 4-5 hours scouring the web for just about anything. On a regular basis, I browse the net for checking my emails, my accounts of different social networks, which grows increasingly annoying with regards to the number of jologs joining by the minute. Next is updating my blog, reading other people’s blog, music, searching for jobs, recipes, fashion, pictures of LOLdogs and just about every info I could get which suits my fancy at the moment. I even searched for internet casinos since my brother is so caught up with this whole casino and poker thing.
Because I have all the time in the world to search for weird, interesting, and popular things on the internet, I am almost always bound to waste a couple of minutes reading comments of articles. I don’t know why I read them but I just do. Its quite interesting to me to actually know how other people react to what is written or posted on the web. Some might surprise or amuse you. People might share the same insight as you do but for the most part, some people are JUST PLAIN DUMB. On the top of my list are the people who read something or seen a video from a certain website and almost immediately regards the whole thing as TRUE and FACTUAL. For all you know, a dog could have typed that article!!!
Another example are the constant comment battles. The exchange of grammatically incorrect sentences of epic proportions and substitution of spelling “know” as “noe” to come off of as cool is quite disturbing. (Take a moment of silence to thank your English teachers for introducing you to English 101 and forcing you to write on those horrid Formal and Informal themes.)
We just cant seem to get enough of topics to argue about. You just cant believe WHAT these people are fighting for to the extent that they attack each other’s sex, religion or ethnicity. One of the most ridiculous topics that these dimwits were arguing about was the popularity of the grueling noon time shows on TV- Wowowee vs. Eat Bulaga which eventually leads to the network rivalry. (I mean, SERIOUSLY???) Another example would be the whole account of Chris Brown’s alleged assault of Rihanna. (Showbiz!) A couple of readers commented that if Chris really assaulted Rihanna, the whole matter should be dealt with accordingly and that he should pay for the consequences blah blah. But there was one comment that I just could not shrug off. The comment read:
” So what if Chris Brown is a woman-beater? I still love and support him no matter what!”
Isn’t it sad? Ignorance at its finest. And this fan IS a woman.
(kalami na lang jud itamparos!)
So there. You just had your fair share of wasted time on the Internet.
Waste your time some more and you’ll eventually find something to rant about. LOL

I usually don’t bother reading comments on articles either because it’s a colossal waste of time, but depending on the topic I sometimes get curious. It’s funny because I always have one of two possible reactions: I either laugh so hard at the utter stupidity of some people or I get so mad at their ignorance that I want to physically harm them. There really are too many morons out there. Oh well, my fault for bothering with it right?
